BRANDING THE FRENCH OPEN

Brandimage – Desgrippes & Laga transforms the signage of the famous tournament in time for the crowds

Since November 2008, Brandimage has been commissioned by the second tournament of the Grand Slam to improve the guest experience and overall image. The objective is to strengthen the personality of the brand with the creation of a consistent brand vocabulary and to create a unique and pleasant experience that leaves the guest wanting to come back each year.

Themed landscapes and a signage system designed to guide visitors inside the stadium, easily directs guests to locate the correct court or service they might need. “Every detail is important in order to orchestrate the image of a sporting event, as when you work on the identity of a bank or an airline,” comments Alain Doré, Executive Creative Director Brandimage – Desgrippes & Laga Paris. “For the first year of our collaboration with the French Open we have focused on the visitors’ experience inside the stadium, with the signage and floral identity. Those are key elements in giving a particular personality to the setting and making it a truly memorable experience. The further implementations of this branding program will come to life over the next three years.” After having crafted its expertise in branding major sport events with the Winter Olympic Games in Albertville and the Tour de France, Brandimage now accompanies the French Open for during two weeks the world’s leading tennis players fight for having their name engraved on the historical list of Grand Slam winners.
